sudden crashing problem with latest SVN

with this new SVN version VS has been crashing and acting a bit oddly

i am used to some lag mostly at jump times but occassional just with crowded areas

but now i have crashed twice and both times the model of a base wasn't showing up

general system stuff:

Vista
core2duo 2.20GHz
Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M
and 2 gigs ram

Welcome tfc_generalKMK i have a feeling that your faction edit malformed the save file in some way all i can think of to do is start a new game after moving everything out of the folder that holds your saves .vegasrtike runnig the setup app before you restart the game and regenerating the whole universe or if that seems drastic just a new game and see what happens.

thanks i was afraid of that i just hated to have the aera hate me on the spot lol oh well i guess i can just avoid them and do missions which seemed to raise it anyways

It can be annoying that's for sure but it is possible to get into there good graces to the point where you can land on one of there planets/bases and buy some of there special tech and ships :wink: it does take a while though.Also there merchant marines are touchy in the extreme which does fit there racial profile though.

The last thing in your log looked like you were accepting a patrol mission... but unfortunately a lot of the crashes have only happened after a long time, and a many of them happened from running out of memory--which doesn't seem like it would be the cause in your case.

How often does the crash happen? Is it reproducible at all?

well i havn't had much time to play lately but my last crash was caused after not trying to jump into a system and the jump point to that system was covered in some structure that disappeared as i approached. next time i play i will try to repeat this if i can and will take a screen shot of it as well
