Need to load game...

i know i am a total noob with no skills what so ever, but,
i have installed the game and, well, um, don't know how to start it....
cannot find an exe anywhere, except to uninstall, should i just give up?
and double click the dreaded exe?
the game looks awesome and i would love to give it a crack,

Are you in Linux or Windows? In Windows nothing could be easier. Suppose you installed to C:\vs; that's
the so-called "game folder". Under it, there's a bin folder. So it would be,
C:\vs\bin
Inside bin, you'll find vssetup.exe. Hit it, and set yourself up how you like it.
When you're finished, hit Save.
Now double-click on vegastrike.exe, in the same bin folder, and wait a minute or so while it loads
files; then, when the main menu comes up, hit Campaign.
First time, the game autogenerates the universe, which can take a few minutes.
Once it's done and you see a docking bay, don't click on your ship and launch into space yet; the
first thing you want to do is go into the station, find a mission computer or at the commodities, Save
your game. Then experiment

(In fact, the first time you launch into space, you'll be hailed by Oswald, who will, at no charge,
teach you how to fly, etceteras.)

Awesome, righto, now i am in the game saved and stuff, now, do i need a joystick, i can get one if necessary.. can't seem to move, paralysis of some kind?
is it common for the exe to be in the bin file?
